FH News (03/06/2026) | Book Reviews are a work program of the Ministry of Strategic Studies and Action of the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Law, Airlangga University. They aim to provide an academic discussion space for students and the general public to develop critical thinking on social and humanitarian issues. In 2026, the event raised the theme “Reexamining Marginalized Narratives” through a discussion of the book Dari Dalam Kubur by Soe Tjen Marching, as an effort to broaden perspectives on narratives that have previously received little space in public discourse.

The event was held offline on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in Room 302, A.G. Pringgodigdo Building, Faculty of Law, Airlangga University. The event began with an opening remarks from the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Law, Airlangga University. The main session included a presentation by the book’s author, Soe Tjen Marching, who explained the ideas and social context behind the book’s writing.

The interactive discussion and question-and-answer session was attended by enthusiastic participants from various backgrounds, including students from various campuses, literacy communities, and the general public. The discussion enriched participants’ perspectives on humanitarian issues, social justice, and the importance of critiquing dominant narratives in society.

Overall, this book review provided a meaningful learning environment that fostered a critical, reflective, and inclusive academic culture. It is hoped that through this activity, participants will continue to develop social sensitivity and critical thinking skills in addressing various issues in both academic and societal settings.
