About Master of Laws

We have held since 1978, making the UNAIR Master of Law Study Program (MIH Study Program) one of Indonesia’s oldest, best, and leading MIH Study Programs. Our study program provides the best learning experience in the law for fresh graduates and professionals to improve their academic skills and professionalism to become distinguished jurists with high morality.

Long experience in the academic life of law science has made us a study program with advantages and characteristics that are different from similar study programs. We are the MIH Study Program which provides graduates with normative solid analytical skills while paying attention to and following the development of other approaches in law.

The law functions to adapt to changes in society while at the same time maintaining the values that must be maintained. Therefore, our curriculum is designed to prepare graduates to be able to face legal developments in the millennial era. In this era, the development of Artificial Intelligence technology dramatically influences and disrupts people’s lives and influences legal relations that are carried out. On the other hand, our curriculum continues to provide timeless, essential learning in law. With this design, our graduates have qualified juridical thinking skills and high self-confidence to compete in the global era. To be able to complete studies from the MIH Study Program, students must complete a minimum of 38 credits: 10 Compulsory Credits, 4 Compulsory Interest Credits, 14 Interest Elective Credits, 4 Thesis Credits, and 4 MKPT (Thesis Supporting Subjects) credits.

Following the community’s need for legal experts with more specific expertise, we opened five specializations, namely: (1)Judicial ; (2)  Business Law; (3) Governmental Law; (4) International Law; and (5)  Health Law. Some lectures are held with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) system, where students become the center of the learning process. With such a system, students are accustomed to studying independently, are skilled in conveying juridical arguments, and have high self-confidence. Lectures are organized by 48 permanent lecturers and 18 non-permanent lecturers who come from professionals with the expertise students need according to their chosen interests.

As an internationalization effort, the Master of Law Program has received international accreditation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) in 2022. The function of this international accreditation is to measure, assess and recognize the quality and standards of our education at an international level. The aim is to ensure that the institution or study program meets high and relevant educational standards according to international standards.

This page will find curriculum and lecture structure, research programs, student affairs, lecturer profiles, and journals published by the MIH Study Program. We hope that you can get to know us better through this website, beyond the reputation we have earned in the community.
