Center of Intellectual Property Studies (PPKI)
– BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY CENTER ESTABLISHMENT
Center of intellectual property study center of Law Faculty, Airlangga University (PKKI) is a form of refresher and refinement of Intellectual Property Rights Central Unit (Sentra HKI). In contrast to HKI Center, PKKI is a center of study which consists of lecturers from different departments. This will enable scientific development and application of related disciplines and Intellectual property more leveragely.
Previously, HKI center was the merger of the Technical Implementation Unit of Intellectual Property Rights Center which originally stood by the Decree of the Rector of Airlangga University on December 13, 2001. This unit has undergone several reorganization of management. The establishment of this unit is based on the Decree of Dean of Law Faculty of Airlangga University, Number: 5303 / H3.1.3 / KD / 2012 on Termination and Appointment of Management Unit Names for Intellectual Property Center of Faculty of Law, Airlangga University.
From the existence of HKI existence to date, changes in organizational structure and the scope of its activities need to be carried out. In such a long history of the existence of the intellectual property unit at Airlangga University, it proves that intelectal property center -related study should still exist at faculty level. The existence of PKKI is one of the elements that support the development of KI at University level. Thus, on March 24, 2016 through the Dean’s Decree No. 218 / UN3.1.3 / KD / 2016, Center of Study of Intellectual Property of FH UNAIR was formed.
PKKI consists of competent people and experts in the field of KI and other sciences that support the development of studies on intellectual property. With organizational and membership changes, PKKI is expected to be a center of study that is always in line with the achievement of the vision, mission and goals of the Faculty and University.
