Welcoming International Accreditation for MKN Program: FH UNAIR Emphasizes Commitment to Improve Its Learning Quality

The Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga, reaffirmed its commitment to improving the quality of learning for its students. One of the commitments to improve the quality of learning is through the international accreditation process. The accreditation activity itself is expected to be a driving force. It can create a conducive atmosphere for education development, provide direction to carry out sustainable faculty quality assurance, and continue striving to achieve the expected quality.

After an accrediting agency internationally accredits the MH Program Study Program from Germany, The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA), this time the MKN Program is preparing to carry out the process toward international accreditation. Located at Baobab Safari Resort Prigen for two days, from 19 to 20 September 2022, the workshop was led by Dr. Indira Retno Aryatie (coordinator of MKN Program) and Dr. Dina Sunyowati (head of Quality Assurance Unit (UPM). The workshop’s main agenda was developing strategies and drafting documents for international accreditation.

Dr. Indira said that the participation of the MKn Program in this international accreditation is part of international recognition. Also will be the pioneers of notarial education on a regional scale to compete globally. Once the certification is obtained, it will become the first Notary Program in Indonesia to be internationally accredited. “This is not easy; we need the support of the entire academic community and be recognized by international accreditation institutions,” said Dr. Indira.

Meanwhile, Dr. Enny Narwati emphasized that the Faculty’s commitment to maintaining the quality of learning is not only through the quality assurance process in national standards but also through the quality assurance process in global standards.

“Today’s challenges must answer globally. By participating in quality assurance activities at the global level, we want to ensure that the quality of our learning also has the same standards at the international level,” said Dr. Enny, one of the lecturers in the International Law Department of FH UNAIR.

The workshop activities on strategy formulation and document preparation were then followed by a discussion led by Dr. Dina Sunyowati as Head of the Quality Assurance Unit (UPM). The talks resulted in various inputs and notes, which were then translated into a strategy document as part of the FIBAA accreditation process
