The second Tri dharma in college is community service. This service to the community must be carried out by every academic community, both in accordance with science being studied and cross science. Community service can be performed at least every semester by emphasizing the outcome of the service. The themes that should be proposed are problems being faced by the community, whether on local, national or global scale. The society is currently in need of guidance in order to enforce law, implement rule of law and dissemination of rule of law that can solve existing problems in society. Community service can be done by going to communities directly, assisting them with scientific and soft skills, performed by the entire academic community of faculty of Law Airlangga University. In order to facilitate the implementation of community service, the Faculty of Law, University of Airlangga through Development Unit, Research, Community Service and Scientific Publications (UP4I) allocate funds and establish guidelines for writing proposals and reports of activities.
- CRITERIA OF COMMUNITY SERVICE
- Theme of community service is based on problems of community in local, national or global scale.
- Location of community service can be carried out around east Java or throughout Indonesia.
- Community service shall be carried out by the proposer and all teams formed by the proposer
III. THE FORM OF COMMUNITY SERVICES
The form of Community Service activities (Pengmas) 2017 includes:
- Community service of counseling
In this form of activity team of lecturers provide counseling of institution/community groups in accordance with the expertise of lecturers on issues needed by the community. The purpose of this activity is primarily for disseminating information, raising law awareness of community and building cooperation to solve problems in society.
- Community service of advocation
The mentoring group is not intended to provide counseling, but the implementing team is actively involved in solving the problems in the community.Tim companion set benchmarks of success assisting with the issues resolved so that before and after mentoring can be evaluated.
- COOPERATION WITH OTHER PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS
Community service is attempted to be performed through cooperation with institutions in community, such as local government or community institutions, or mass organizations and other non-governmental organizations.
