General lecture from u.s. Embassy (u.s. Department of justice)
Tuesday (10th May 2016) Faculty of Law Universitas Airlangga was visited by Steven Kessler from U.S. Embassy (U.S. Department of Justice) along with his 2 interpreters. Mr. Steven H. Kessler received his Bachelor’s and Jurist Doctor degrees from the George Washington University in 1978 and 1981. He served as a legislative assistant for United States Senator Bill Bradley and then went on to work as a prosecutor in the Office of the Kings County District Attorney, Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Kessler worked for over twenty years in New York, prosecuting homicides, narcotics cases, robberies, and other violent crimes. He joined OPDAT in 1983, serving in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (2003-2007), Yerevan, Armenia (2007-2012), and Jakarta, Indonesia (2012 to the present). In this opportunity He gave lecture for English Class Program Batch 2014. He explained about 10 differences of Indonesia Legal System and USA Legal System. Not only explaining about the difference He also gave any example to make the class easier. By using active discussion methods the general lecture goes well and it can encourage the student to become active in classroom.
