Humas (12/03) | Universitas Airlangga welcoming its achievement to achieve World Top 500 University honors continue to intensify its major programs, AMERTA is one of them. AMERTA is an abbreviation for Academic Mobility Exchange for Undergraduate at Airlangga which is a student exchange program initiated by Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) that has been running for about 3 years. As a foreign exchange student program that enters UNAIR, AGE requests that faculty could accommodate the interest of foreign students that wishing to take the program.
As a supportive aspect for this program, FH UNAIR offered 8 courses to be taken by AMERTA students, the courses are Introduction to Indonesian Law, Adat Law, Human Rights, International Trade Law, Intellectual Property Rights, ASEAN Law, Nuclear Law and Cyber Law. “AMERTA is one-semester program which is the credits of the courses that has taken can be transferred to the transcript assesment of original University, this is also the advantages for taking AMERTA program. In addition, for AMERTA students that interested to take some courses in FH UNAIR are not required has a legal base from their original University.” said Sujayadi, Head of Academic FH UNAIR.
There are many student come from Cambodia who taken AMERTA program in FH UNAIR, there are also students who come from Malaysia and Netherlands. “I’m taking this program for take the opportunity to learn many new things that i’ve never experienced before, since Indonesia is the largest country in ASEAN and has much cultures in it. In FH UNAIR i took two courses, Cyber Law and ASEAN Law. In here people are very creative at making Power Point in the persentation. And i love the foods from Indonesia of course.” said Nhokchin one of AMERTA program students from Royal University of Law and Economics, Cambodia. While Hafidz, this Malaysian student says “I’m interested in this program because this program offered some flexible requirements, also i think the cost of living in Indonesa is cheaper than other countries, that’s why i choosed Indonesia as my destination for student exchange.”
Although it has been running for more than 2 years, AMERTA program must always improving its service so that the credibility and integrity of UNAIR could become more great. “We hope that in the future AGE and AMERTA program could be better with a faster and transparent information exchange system to facilitate student exchange in accessing information about this AMERTA program.” messages from Visal, Bun, and Penh, students from Cambodia for a better AMERTA program in the further.
“The ranking of QS World University Rank has one of the assessment criteria of International Student both in-bound and out-bound. AMERTA is one of many program for increasing the in-bound sector to improve the quality of UNAIR in International.
